Landscape Assessment Courses

These courses will be field based and are intended as a practical extension to plant-family courses.

Whilst some time will be spent in the conference room for the first day, the majority of the time will be spent in the field undertaking practical (field based assessments).

Current areas these courses are offered focus on the following:

  • Regional Ecosystems and Landscapes of the Gold Coast and Hinterland
  • Regional Ecosystems and Landscapes of the Greater Brisbane Area
  • Regional Ecosystems and Landscapes of the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland
  • Regional Ecosystems and Landscapes of the Southern Darling Downs and Granite Belt
  • Regional Ecosystems and Landscapes of the Northern Darling Downs
  • Regional Ecosystems and Landscapes of the Bowen Basin
  • Regional Ecosystems and Landscapes of the Central Queensland Coast, and
  • Regional Ecosystems and Landscapes of the Wet Tropics coast.

biodiversity_grp_250Course numbers are a minimum of 10 attendees and a maximum of 20 attendees. (unless prior arrangements are made for custom designed/specialist courses)

A self-paced assessment item is offered which shall be reviewed by the course co-ordinator (Dr Mike Olsen) and successful completion of the assessment will enable the attendee to gain a Certificate of Competency from LAMR Pty Ltd.

These courses will be run by Dr Mike Olsen with assistance, as required, from members of The Biodiversity Consortium.
